This is actually one of several original ideas for comics that I sent to Yayster in December of 2006, but it was the easiest to draw, I think, so it ended up being first. There was also a Christmas one among them that never got drawn. The holiday came and went before we had a chance to work on it, and it just wasn't timely anymore. That one may resurface in a non-Christmas form at some point in the future if I can figure out how to rework it.

I loved the idea of the characters reading their own fan mail. It set the tone for what the comic would be, a behind-the-scenes look at the series from the standpoint of the characters, as if they were putting on the show for us every week. Some of the comics may not be so self-referential, but the characters will always be Sam and Gene (and Ray and Chris and Annie) as opposed to the actors who play them. —Blanca
